Russian pres calls for cutting administrative barriers for business
MOSCOW, Jun 8 (PRIME) -- It is necessary to reduce administrative barriers for businesses, but a government antimonopoly control should be carried out on a regular basis, President Vladimir Putin said Monday at a meeting with the Federal Antimonopoly Service’s Director Igor Artemyev.
“…I am always for reduction of administrative barriers. But I also assume that the government’s control function, especially, in such market sphere as antimonopoly regulation, should certainly be carried out on a regular basis, should correspond to the level of markets’ development, the level of economic development and meet interests of all participants of economic activity,” Putin said.
Putin said earlier he was against unjustifiably limiting powers of the Federal Antimonopoly Service.
In February, the Economic Development Ministry developed a draft bill to reduce probes at small businesses in accordance with Putin’s instructions to ease oversight and control over small firms.
